Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is the latest advancement in diabetes management and we’re on top of it. Animas® Corporation and DexCom™, Inc. have a joint development agreement to integrate DexCom’s CGM technology into our insulin pumps. The DexCom Seven™ system is currently available to patients as a standalone system.
How CGM works.
A continuous glucose monitor is a device that measures glucose levels throughout the day, including while the user is sleeping. These devices can provide up to 288 glucose measurements every 24 hours.
Compared to a traditional glucose meter test, which is a snapshot in time, CGM is a way to see what’s happening between individual glucose meter tests—that way, you can observe levels and patterns that may not have been detected before.
